October 19, 2020 - Toiletries

by Ada Fried Wisniewski

They say there's a 1000 stories in the big city. Well Naples isn't necessarily a big city per se but there are certainly 1000s of stories out there especially since COVID. This woman lives in a bus stop on Pine Ridge and Airport. Tony and I were delivering one day and saw her sleeping there. We offered her a meal and the rest is history. She moved here a while ago and unfortunately fell on hard times. We give her one homemade meal a day hoping it makes some difference in her life. Here, Tony was providing her a care package made up by some of our wonderful donors that included toothpaste, tooth brush and some other basic toiletries that she didn't have. She uses the bathroom in the Carillion mall when she can but it's difficult at times. Some of the stores give her problems using the facilities. Stories like this is why we need to continue our mission and feed as many people as we can. As Tony said, " it's not the government's job, it's our job, WE are the community, WE are the village and together we can accomplish anything". Thank you and God bless you.
